SEISMIC EFFECTS AHEAD OF KARYMSKY VOLCANO (KAMCHATKA) EXPLOSIONS IN FEBRUARY 2019

نویسندگان

چکیده

After a short period of quiescence, in February 2019, Karymsky volcano (Kamchatka Peninsula, Russia) became active. During the month, large number moderate explosions were recorded, some which preceded with periodicity by long-period earthquakes high degree similarity waveforms. The duration multiplet events that ranged from 4 to 70 minutes. between decreased as multiplets developed. amplitude earthquake records either increased or remained at same level. higher strongest eruptions. decreasing is most likely related acceleration magma ascent and an increase gas pressure volcanic channel. If this true, absence after eruption marks complete release edifice.

Modeling Strombolian eruptions of Karymsky volcano, Kamchatka, Russia

A model is proposed to explain temporal patterns of activity in a class of periodically exploding Stromboliantype andesite volcanoes. These patterns include major events (explosions) which occur every 3^30 min and subsequent tremor with a typical period of 1 s. This two-periodic activity is thought to be caused by two distinct mechanisms of accumulation of the elastic energy in the moving magma...

Hydrogeochemistry of Thermal Sources, Mutnovsky Volcano, South Kamchatka (russia)

In this paper the investigation results of thermal springs of the Mutnovsky Volcano (Kamchatka, Russia) are provided. Mud pots in the Donnoe Field of this volcano have a unique solution composition. High concentrations of a wide spectrum of chemical elements such as Al, Ti, V, Cr, Ni, Co, REE and PGE were discovered there. To explain the mechanisms of solution formation it was made an attempt t...
